Gaynell D. Edwards, 60, peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2016, at Sentara Leigh Hospital after battling pancreatic cancer.

Born in Norfolk, VA, Gaynell was a loving, nurturing, and beautiful mother, daughter, and wife. The fourth of nine children born to Arcelious and Frances White, Gaynell resided in Chesapeake, VA, and worked at Chesapeake Regional Hospital as a Unit Secretary for over ten years.

Left to cherish her memory: husband, Darnell Edwards; two daughters, Sierra and Brittany Edwards; one son, Darnell Whitaker; two grandchildren, Dequan Wilson and Tyrese Fleming; parents, Arcelious and Frances White; eight siblings, Brenda Espinal, Arcelious White, Jr., Renay Clarke, Donnell White, Sherry Battle, Terry White, Carol Taylor, and Carl White; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, and a great grandchild.

The viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Graves Funeral Home located at 1631 Church Street, Norfolk, VA, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Holy Temple Church located at 2644 Gilmerton Road, Chesapeake, VA 23323.
