On Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, the Lord in His infinite wisdom called our earthly angel, Bonita Denise Lowe-McPherson to eternal rest. Bonita affectionately known as “Bonnie or Ms. Bonnie” was born to the late Retha Maria Lowe and Bertrum Lowe, March 3, 1952.
Bonnie received a formal education from the Norfolk Public School System. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and later continued her education at Haywood University in Haywood California where she received an Associates Degree.
For many years, Bonnie was a resident of the San Francisco California Bay area. While attending college, Bonnie met and married Stanley Paige. From this reunion two sons were born, Stanley and Jason. Bonnie was a devoted mother who loved her family unconditionally. Her sons were the love of her life.
After moving back home in the mid 1970’s, Bonnie was employed as a tax preparer in Norfolk, VA and worked for Norfolk Redevelopment Housing Authority as a supervisor for many years.
Bonnie embraced the simple things in life such as gardening, landscaping and drawing. Her heart was into helping and caring for children, family and friends.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: two sons, Stanley and Jason Lowe of Norfolk, VA; one brother, Jesse Sills (Sandra) of San Antonio, TX; four grand children, Davion Devonte Devince Lowe, Selina Maria Lowe, Dominique Lowe and Taquan Harper; and one Sister-In-Law, Sylvia Andrews of Chesapeake, VA.
Bonnie was predeceased by her parents; Retha and Bertrum Lowe and a life- long partner, Alvin Lee Chanty.
