Pop Sessoms was always the Wind Beneath My Wings; he always challenged me to continue to move forward and not to allow anything or anyone to stop me. He made me so proud to be me. When I found out he had transition, I froze and reflected upon the many years mentoring. Thanks for sharing your Might Warrior with the world. Love You All

Condolence: My mother & I would like to express our sincerest condolences to your family. Losing a loved one in death is one of the hardest things to deal with, for we're certainly familiar with this kind of pain. It is very encouraging that the Bible can bring much comfort at such a time as this. Please, when you've time, read Isa.25:8, 1Cor.15:26 & Rev.21:3,4. Please know that these promises are true because God cannot lie (Titus 1:1,2). Also visit JW.org for more comforting yet insightful information that offers a positive hope for the very near future. Our most heartfelt regards, Joyce & Stacy Howard.

Condolence From: Shirley A. Whitaker
Condolence: To the Sessoms Family: I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Sessoms was a kind, caring, outspoken and giving man who loved his church, family, fraternity and sports. I met Mr. Sessoms when I started working in Athletics at Norfolk State. He loved sports especially women's basketball and was at all games he could. Even when he had health issues, he would get someone to bring him to the games, along with his "bag of peanuts." As an educator and coach, he always made sure you had the things you needed to be successful, including a short "message" of wisdom to go along with his assistance. Mr. Sessoms will truly be missed. We loved him so much, but God loved him more. Regretfully, Shirley A. Whitaker Norfolk, VA
