Joseph L. Nottage, Jr. of Philadelphia, 82, passed away on July 12, 2017. Joseph lived in Virginia Beach for more than 35 years before moving back to the Philadelphia area. Joseph retired from the Federal Aviation Administration where he worked for over 25 distinguished years. He was a member of Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church. Joseph’s wife of nearly 50 years, the former Gertrude English and daughter Pamela Nottage both predeceased him. He is survived by two sisters; Dorothy Williams of Portland, Oregon; Naomi Merrill of Riverton, New Jersey; a sister – in – law Alice Corbitt and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church in Norfolk. The funeral will be preceded by a viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park in Virginia Beach.
