Douglas Ronald Morris ‘Joe Baker’ answered the call to enter eternal rest on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
A native of Norfolk, Virginia he was born on December 19, 1945 to the late Janie and Robert Morris. He was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Gray; a son, Lil Doug; a brother, Bobby Morris and a sister, Patricia Morris.
‘Doug’ as he was affectionately called was a father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
He attended Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Virginia. As he grew older Doug loved to have a good time, laugh and bring a smile to all those around him.
Doug will be remembered as a pioneer to his buddies. He could always be seen kicking it with his homies on the corner. He enjoyed riding his ‘Jazzy’ through Calvert Park or ‘Uptown’ as he called it. He will be greatly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Linda Gray – Williams (Quincy) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Curtis Gray (Angela) and Rodney Gray both of Norfolk, Virginia; a sister, Janice Morris of Norfolk, Virginia; two brothers, Marvin Morris (Connie) of Norfolk, Virginia and Naeem Jihaad (Pam) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren; twenty seven great - grandchildren; a special friend, Rose Jones of Norfolk, Virginia as well as a host of nieces, nephews, ‘Cousins by the Dozens’ and friends.
