Beverly Gertrude Bryant beloved daughter, sister, grandmother answered the call to her Heavenly Reward. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, she was born December 18, 1951 to James Thomas and Wincie Jackson Bryant.
Beverly was baptized into the Catholic faith at a early age at The Basicilia of St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception in Norfolk, VA. She remained spiritual and faithful to the end.

Beverly attended St. Mary’s Academy for elementary school. She graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School. While at Catholic High, she received honors for perfect attendance and participation in extra curricular activities. Beverly graduated from Norfolk State College with a B.A. in Elementary Education. While at Norfolk State, she was a member of the ROTC drill team. She entered the Miss ROTC pageant of 1971 and was the selected representative. Also, she pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Beverly was kind, giving, loved life and travel. She was photographed by Virginia Pilot Photographer R. L. Dunston at the Norfolk State Spring Carnival as Reflectionsin a Silver Eye. She participated in the 95th Anniversay of Hunton YMCA parade by riding on a float. She enjoyed family and friends and her chosen profession of teaching

Beverly joined Norfolk Public Schools teaching both the 1st and 2nd grades. She taught at Norfolk Public Schools for 37 years with appointments at Pineridge, Meadowbrook and Tarrallton Elementary Schools. For a short time, she also served as Math Curriculum Specialist helping teachings to use creative ways to teach math, but she missed the student-teacher interaction and returned to the classroom.

She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. She was pre-deceased by her father, James T. Bryant, Sr., her brother, Jim “Tommy” Bryant, Jr., her companion of many years, Earl T. Mitnaul Sr., and a host of other family members. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her mother, Wincie J. Bryant; her sisters, Jacqueline E. Bryant, Irma Craft Rattman, and Sandra R. Bryant; an aunt, Mary Jackson; a niece, Kimberly E. Bryant; four nephews Lawrence and William Carr, James T. Bryant, III, and Maurice “Reggie” Craft; her grandkids Gloria and Alan Mitnaul; and a host of Cousins, Nieces and Nephews, loving family and dear friends.
