Dennis Kevin Hairston was called to be with the Lord on the morning of February 7th, 2018 with his wife of 35 years Veronica Hairston by his side at the Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Dennis was born November 25, 1955 to the late Mr. Edward T. Hairston and Mrs. Gertrude Hairston in Martinsville, Virginia.

Dennis is survived by his wife Veronica Hairston. Together they shared 35 wonderful dedicated years and have two children, a son Robert of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a daughter Asia of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

He has two granddaughters Donyei and Rayanna and five grandsons Khalil, Raekwon,Tyree,Tyron and Tyrik. He has three great-grandchildren Emmanuel, Xavier, and London. He is also survived by his two sisters and four brothers: Angela Hairston, Betty Reed, Carl Hairston, Edward Hairston, Jeffrey Hairston, and Steven Belcher and a host of nieces and nephews.

Dennis worked for the City of Norfolk, Virginia for 34 years, and retired as the Assistant Superintendent of Utilities Division.

He was an active member of Rock Church International in Virginia Beach, Virginia and was one who always allowed the Lord to use him as a vessel for his glory, working in the TV Media Ministry for several years.

He loved football and was a renowned Dallas Cowboys fan amongst his family and friends. He was a true servant of God and dedicated his life to being a shining example for others to see.

Anyone that knew him spoke of his patient, kind and loving spirit. Again a testament to the love he had for his Lord and Savior. Dennis will forever be in our hearts, and eternally cherished by God.
