Obituary for Viator Louis Trudeau

Viator L. Trudeau, 86 of Chesapeake, Virginia passed away Wednesday March 14, 2018 at his home under the care of Sentara Hospice. Viator was born in Clifton, IL October 08, 1931. The son of William David and Leonie Julia (Kempen) Trudeau. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Kankakee, IL in 1949.

Viator completed two years of Drafting Trade School in Chicago, IL. Viator served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Through the U.S. Navy he received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.

After the Navy Viator worked at General Foods as a drafting engineer and he retired in 1988.

Viator’s hobbies were antique cars; he was a member of two antique car clubs of America. He had an incredible talent to fix almost anything. He enjoyed exercising and meeting friends at Panera Bread to share stories and laughter daily. Viator was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Viator was preceded in death by first child, David Allen Trudeau, one brother, Claude Trudeau and one sister, Yolanda (Trudeau) Houde.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janet (Geistwhite) Trudeau of Chesapeake, VA
whom he married August 08, 1959 at St. Patrick's Church in Kankakee, IL; three children, Julie of Brisbane, Australia, William (Tammy) of Gardendale, AL and James (Julia) of Chesapeake, VA; one brother, James Joseph Trudeau of St. Charles, IL; seven grandchildren, Belinda, Ryan, David, Emerson, James, Evan and Brooke; two great grand-children, Bethany and a baby on the way.

In Lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Sentara Hospice -Chesapeake.
