Obituary for Samuel Jackson

Samuel Jackson, the son of Mary Carr- Jackson and Bennie Jackson of Berkley, entered into eternal rest Thursday June 7, 2018. He was preceded by his mother and father as well as his seven siblings; Bennie Jr., Leslie Sr., James (Bo), Columbus (Lummy), Arlington, Zanobia, and Mary.

Sam was born in Norfolk, Va. On October 12, 1938. He was educated in the Norfolk Public Schools system and went on to serve in the U.S Army. Later on he went on to retire from the Little Creek Commissary on the Little Creek Amphib base.

Sam was an exceptional butcher and loved to cook. He enjoyed feeding others and sharing meals with his friends and family. Sam loved to read, learn world facts, quiz his grandchildren, and listen to symphony music.

Sam leaves to cherish his memory, Barbara S. Jackson wife of 42 years. Step daughter Dawn B. Suggs, step-son Bernie D. Suggs; 4 grandchildren Diamond Benjamin, James Mclaughlin, Zariawn Anthony, and Zarielle Anthony; 2 great grandchildren Joy Dawn Benjamin and Aubrey Ray Patterson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
