Obituary for Christina Laverne Lyons

There's no way to adequately sum-up mother's life in just a few paragraphs, she was such an amazing women. She was a devoted mother, who's kindness touched the hearts of so many. Giving most of her time to all the children around her. Christina was born on April 10, 1961 in Baltimore., Md. to the late Wilbert C. Lyons Sr. And the late Deloris Anne Lyons. Christina departed this world from a long-term illness on Tuesday Nov. 20, 2018 in her home located in Norfolk, Va.

Christina was educated in Baltimore public school system; in which she became a graduate of Frederick Douglass High School. Shortly after entering the career world working many jobs be for she found her place as a security guard at Rite Aid pharmacy. During this time, Chris attended Coppin State College. Where she joined the volley ball team, becoming one of the star starting players. During this time she began life as an loving mother having her two sons Big Jay & Mr. Booja. Being a single mother, Chris devoted much of her to ensuring the well being of her children as well as making sure they were properly educated. She also enjoyed music, singing, dancing, creating, organizing kid functions, children, and living in the moments. But after the painful death of her first born son Jo Von, Christina moved to Norfolk, Va. where she would continue caring for her second child, and continue growing herself physically and mentally. She also met what would soon to be her best friend and life companion Allen a.k.a. A.T. Christina also enjoyed spending majority of her time with her three grandchildren. Making them the center of her world and the source to her strength.

Christina accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at a young age. Attending New Calvary Baptist in Baltimore., Md. singing in the choir and getting to know better. Never seeming to religious, but always keeping her faith. Battling the struggles of the flesh, she knew the lord as her rock.

Christina is predeceased by her parents Deloris Anne Lyons, Wilbert C. Lyons and her first son Jo Von C. Lyons Sr. She is survived by her fiance Allen Reid, a son Raynard Lyons (Ebony), three grandchildren Jo Von Lyons Jr., Jo Vonia Lyons, Rayvn Lyons, two great grands Genisis Lyons, Malanie Lyons, siblings Wilbert Lyons(Linda), Marvin Lyons(Elizabeth), Angela Billups (Gary), Anthony Lyons, and a host of family and friends.
