Audrey Theresa (Mabrey) Harmon

Audrey Theresa (Mabrey) Harmon know to her family as "POPPA" was born Dec. 12, 1942 to the late Mildred Thomas and the late Oliver Mabrey. Later raised by the late "Daddy Earl" Cartwright. She departed this life and transitioned to be with the Lord November 2, 2017.

Mrs. Audrey was educated by Norfolk Public Schools graduating from BTW, and later attending NSU.

Mrs. Audrey had two children Tiffanie Artis (Ches) and Troy Artis (deceased). Audrey met the love of her life George ‘Baby’ Stanley Harmon and they married on June 22, 1982 from this union she has 2 stepchildren Pedro Harmon and Stephanie Barksdale.

Mrs. Audrey worked in Norfolk Public Schools system for many years working with children with disabilities.

Mrs. Audrey was a faithful member of New Union Chapel AME sometimes arriving before the doors were open. She was always on her post of duties, whether it was teaching Sunday School or a Usher at the door. Mrs. Audrey loved working with the Young People's Department and as a stewardess on 1st. Sunday. She also served on the kitchen staff for many years. She would often fill in as an acolyte when no young person was available. Mrs. Audrey loved her church, her church family and didn't mind giving of her time, talent and tithes.

Mrs. Audrey had a spirit like no other she would make you laugh, and cry laughing. She was always giving and had a word for you whether you liked it or not. She was Auntie or Grandmom to many of the young people. Mrs. Audrey often would say she lived a good life, travel the world, and now she is tired and "READY" to go.

Audrey's memories are cherished by her husband George ‘Baby’ Stanley Harmon. Her daughter Tiffanie Artis and dauther in law, Janice. Her sisters Derrell Mabrey Turner (Richard), Olivia Eason (Cornelius), Margaret Turner. Stepchildren Pedro Harmon and Stephanie Barksdale. Grandchildren David Wilson Jr., DeSean Wilson (Czhrina), Tyler Hunter (Mia), Tionne Neville, Bianca Harmon, Alexis Harmon, Stephon Barksdale, Trevon Barksdale, Tashea Cheeks, Tashauna Cheeks, Jazmine Scott, Shonyall Scott, Troi Artis, Troy Artis Jr. Great Grandchild Zayvion Wilson, God children Kristin and Kevin Bullock, Shenelle Rogers The Golden Girls Barbara Bullock (Abert), Frances Nightingale (Lawrence), Earlene Eley (Worley); two special friends Aline Rogers and Nancy Vander.
