Obituary for Jerry Alexander Gray Sr.

On Sunday Morning, April 8, 2018 God called one of his precious children home. Jerry Alexander Gray, Sr., 68, was born in Chesapeake, Virginia November 1, 1949 to Mr. William and Mrs. Florine Gray.

Jerry was a Chesapeake resident most of his life and he was a graduate of Crestwood High School.

Jerry lived a life filled with love for his family whom he loved. He served his country proudly as a Veteran who was trained as a Rifleman for the United States Marine Corps. While serving in the Vietnam War Jerry received a Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, a Combat Action Ribbon and a National Defense Medal from the United States Marine Corps. After serving his country is received an honorable discharge and earned the respect of many because of his service to his country.

Jerry Was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Beatrice Gray; parents, William and Florine Gray; his sister, Jennette Sivels; brothers, William Gray and Herbert Gray, and his grandson, Tazohn Gray.

Jerry leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rubella Goodman-Gray; his sister, Bonnie King (Rodney) of Chesapeake, VA; brothers, William Kellam of Virginia Beach, VA, Oscar Gray (Judith) of Chesapeake, VA; his children Jerry Gray Jr., Darnell Gray, Evelyn Gray, Tamara Gray, Darius Gray, Krishma Gray, Lori Gray, Jennette Gray, K. Gray and an additional four children for a total of thirteen. Also left to cherish the memory of our beloved Jerry Alexander Gray, Sr. are his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
