Obituary for Lula Mae Taylor (Kirkwood)

Lula M. Taylor, 79 Departed this Life on the first day of October in the year of 2018 she was born in Pocomoke City, Maryland on 14 November 1938 to the late Sidney and Beulah Kirkwood.
All through her wonderful growing years Lula was very active in Art and took pride in her work in Ceramics , Painting , and most of all Interior Decorating and Doll Collecting all of which she would share with family and friends without requiring any thing in return .
Lula met the Love of her life John Taylor, Sr in Pocomoke City Maryland in July 1958
And after a year long courtship he proposed to her and they were married on August the 22nd 1959 in Pocomoke City, Maryland by the Reverend S. Culver of Saint John AME Church. With this union spanning Fifty Nine Years they were blessed with Five Children. John Jr, Michael, Kevin, Carla and Lula’s Husband John also had a Daughter Kathy Morrison prior to their relationship and welcomed with love by Lula and the children.
Lula’s marriage carried her as a military wife to various areas of our Country covering Boston Massachusetts , San Diego California , Long Beach California , Louisville Kentucky , Washington DC , and finally settling in Virginia Beach , VA
Lula was a wonderful loving mother to all our children and a strong protector when her Husband John was deployed at sea on various Navy Ships.
Lula leaves to cherish her life her Husband John Sr. Her son’s John Jr., Michael, Kevin, Daughters Kathy and Carla. Her Sister’s Martha Boyd, & Ginger and Brother Elwood Kirkwood, her Aunt Beatrice Jones. And a host of Nieces, Nephews and Loving Cousins.
Grand Children, Kenneth Taylor, Jerrod, Juno, and Jianne Taylor, Krystal and Jazmine Taylor, Karma Dona Taylor , Quintin Mason, André Hill “Amanda” , Latonya “Thomas”Davidson.
Great Grand Kids, Thomas Davidson. Jr “Ruth”, Terrence Davidson, Tamia Davidson, Ezra, Michaela, and Gabrielle.
Great Great Grand Kids, Felix, Luna Davidson.
The Family would like to express our Appreciation for the warm sympathy, love and Support received doing this our most difficult time. Our Special thanks to the Sentara Hospice Team consisting of Peggy Croker, Shannon Crosby, Lorna Smith, Jill and Doris Ridley.
