Obituary for Willie Harris Jr.

Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at age 93 Mr. Willie Harris, Jr. answered the call of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and transitioned from labor to reward.
Mr. Willie Harris, Jr. was born August 9, 1925 in Dozier, Alabama to the late Mr. Willie Harris, Sr. and the late Mrs. Ophelia Harris.
Willie Harris, Jr. was retired from the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. Willie was a true provider for his family; not only did he retire from the military he also retired as a truck driver.
Over the course of Willie’s life he did many things and with his innate passion to serve and protect he was also a Security Guard. He served not only his family, his country but he was a servant for The Lord. He served his church as a Deacon, sang in the Male Chorus, served with the Male Ushers as well as the chairman of the Building Fund. Willie took role models and leading by example seriously he strived to help others by stepping in to Mentor when needed.
Left to mourn his life yet cherish his memories are his wife, Wealtha M. Harris; four Daughters, Cynthia Bowser, Beverly Person, Annise Hinton and Maureen Barnard; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 1.5 great great-grandchildren.
Of the nine siblings Willie leaves two brothers, Alphonso Harris and Joe Harris and two sisters, Eloise Aldridge and Charity Wood to continue his generation legacy. In addition to his siblings, Willie is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Willie Harris, Jr. was a dedicated and loving husband as well as a much-loved father and grandfather who will be deeply be missed by all who knew and loved him.
