Obituary for Lois Marie Lovitt (Lovitt)

WE SERVE A MIGHTY GOD! On Tuesday morning November 27, 2018, God reached down with his loving and powerful hands to take his beloved daughter to her resting place. Lois Marie Lovitt (affectionately known as Cookie) a native of Princess Anne County. Cookie was born on November 23, 1941 to the late Marcia (Kitty) Spence and Ben Mitchell.
Lois attended Princess Anne County Training School where she played Varsity basketball. Cookie enjoyed coloring books that included images of butterflies, birds and flowers. She also enjoyed watching her westerns and crocheting as one of her many hobbies. She loved listening to R&B, Jazz and Gospel music. Her favorite CD was titled “I Don’t Want to Go”, by Hardway Connection from Maryland. Cookie was a kind-hearted person who would never let anyone go hungry. Her motto was, “I can’t give you money, but I can feed you”. Cookie enjoyed cooking and collected many cookbooks and recipes. She was a proud member of Enoch Baptist Church and served as a Pastor’s Aide. Cookie did food prep at Lynnhaven Fish House and Gus’s Restaurant for many years.
Cookie leaves to cherish her precious memories children Raphus (BaeRay) Etheridge Jr. and wife Donnita, Marcia (Lynette) McNealy, Marnita (Fran) Jefferson, Jacquelyn (Moody) Smith, and Randolph Holly (deceased).
Siblings Bobby, Ben and Gerrod Mitchell, Sharlyn Mitchell-Smith, Diedra Roboteau, Sherwood (Hollywood) Mitchell (deceased) and Richard Mitchell (deceased).
In-Laws Venetia Jefferson, Dottie and Shirley Mitchell and Sheila Moore.
Special Cousins Diane Spencer and Gloria (Blossom) Wells (deceased).
God Daughters Vanessa Miller-Brown, Barbara Thomas and Yvette Smith.
Grandchildren Tiara and Raphus (Tre) Etheridge, Denita, Suttice and Anasia Smith, Bryan and Ashleigh Perkins, Francis Ferebee, Sabrina Perry, Calvin (CJ) Thomas and Carmelia Cooper and six great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
