Obituary for Linda Patricia Williams (Sharp)

Linda Patricia Williams
Ms. Linda from Virginia was born Linda Patricia Sharp to the late Joseph Nelson and Shirley Elaine Sharp of Norfolk, Virginia. She was the second born daughter and forever playmate to her older sister Cheryl. She attended Norfolk Public Schools graduating from Lake Taylor High in 1976, and yes, she was a cheerleader! Linda considered joining the military but soon realized that meant following orders and keeping curfew and she just couldn’t do that! Instead she worked for many years in the facilities department at NAS, Norfolk before transitioning to a Customer Service
Associate at QVC.
“Linda Lu”, “Madea” and “Ms. Linda from VA” were all names she answered to. Called Linda Lu by her grandmother, Catherine and her mother. She was called Linda LaRue by her favorite uncle, Bud Sharp. She said he made her laugh so hard she cried. She was sometimes Madea to her nieces and nephews because of her brassy demeanor and sharp one-liners, “Don’t play me play lotto! ”Ms. Linda from Virginia was warmly welcomed into offices, businesses, hospitals and restaurants in Hampton Roads, North Carolina and Georgia. She was often doted on by staff members and service staff who loved giving her that little bit of “extra"; catfish or kind words she accepted all with a wide grim and humility. Her relationship with God was well known. She was quick to make you laugh or bring you a word from the Lord. Encouraging and full of the gospel she commanded her surroundings. Ms. Linda loved a family gathering and was blessed to recently attend the wedding of her nephew, Sean as well a birthday celebration for her Aunt Virginia Sharp. She delighted in poking at her cousin Patsy and said, “I need to get out more.” Last December she was overjoyed to see her Godson, Clifford receive his baptism into the faith. Thanksgiving night she enjoyed dinner with her sister, nieces, nephews and cousins. She even saved room for dessert with her furry friends, Ladybug and Baby.
Linda is predeceased by her infant son, Mathew Joseph, her parents , Joseph and Shirly Sharp and three brothers, Nelson, Earl, Stanley Dean and Eric Orlando Sharp. She is survived by her husband, Lanelle L. Williams; her sisters, Cheryl Sharp, Joycelyn Sharp and Maria Montgomery; nephews, Shawn McGee, Sean Murray (De’Ja), Clifford Clark, Lamar Clark and Delaine Montgomery, as well as her nieces Rachel Montgomery and Erica Sharp. Her best friend Cynthia Daniels and her brother of another mother, James Mathews mourn her passing. Her remaining cousins and extended family will miss her laughter.
