Obituary for Reginald Keith Mayfield

On December 6, 2018 our lives were changed forever, Mr. Reginald K. “Reggie” Mayfield departed his earthly life into eternity due to a fatal car accident.
Reginald was born on July 13, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was born and given to his late parents 62 years ago to Ms. Doris Mayfield and Mr. Virtrice Walden. Reginald was the youngest of three sons.
Reginald was predeceased by his Brother, Mr. Eugene Mayfield; Maternal Grandparents, Mr. Howard and Mrs. Gladys Mayfield; Aunties, Ms. Catherine ‘Nusey’ Mayfield, Ms. Mary Mayfield and Mrs. Lollie Debraux; Uncles, Mr. Howard Mayfield and Mr. Clyde Mayfield.
Reginald was a native of Norfolk, Virginia and received his education in the Norfolk Public School System. After graduating from Lake Taylor Senior High School in 1975, Reggie began his working career at the Newport News Shipyard.
In 1997 Reggie met Rosa and in November 1999 they were married and she became Rosa L. Mayfield. In this union they were blessed to share Reggie’s daughter, Sherri.
In 2000 Reginald received the right hand of fellowship and accepted Jesus Christ in his life as his personal Lord and Savior. He came to realize that wisdom doesn’t come from age, but from the realization of the Holy Spirit that dwells on the inside and letting him have control of your life, regardless the situation.
Reginald was a ‘Bibliophile’. He loved reading books; The Bible; any type of Literature he enjoyed. Reginald had a love of flowers and gardening, he also enjoyed many outdoor activities.
Reginald loved to “look good” and “dress”. He was known as Red, Reggie or Mayfield…But if you truly knew “My Reggie” the one thing you would know is… What he loved the most!! He loved the month of December and Christmas was truly his favorite time of the year. During the holiday season he would always visit his family and friends.
If Reginald could speak to you right now, he would say, ‘Have a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!’
