On Saturday, December 15, 2018 our mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend Mattie C. McConn departed this life at Chesapeake Health and Rehabilitation.
Mattie was the daughter of Betty and William Peele and she was born in Washington, North Carolina.
Mattie was a member of St. Paul Church of Christ. She was a member of the Senior Choir, The Usher Board, The Kitchen Committee and the Board of Trustees.
Mother Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and William Peele; son, Wayne Hodges; daughter, Dora E. Moore; brothers, William Peele, Nathaniel Peele, Bennie Peele, Robert Lee Peele and Randolph Norfleet.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Shirley Williams of Virginia Beach, VA and Phyllis Roberson of Los Angeles, CA; two sons, Arthur Hodges of Norfolk, VA and John T. Hodges of Virginia Beach, VA; a devoted granddaughter, Veronica Moore of Chesapeake, VA, fourteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relative and friends.
