To Sheryl and the Clark family we are so sorry for your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May God strengthen you and know that God will never leave you nor forsake you. Mr. Clark was an awesome man, teacher, band director, mentor, perfectionist, musician, disciplinary, visionary and on and on! He is one teacher/band director that many of us will never forget. We admired him, we were proud to be a part of the Campostella band under the direction of Mr. Clark! We had an awesome marching band and we were superior as a symphonic band all because of the leadership, training and perfection that Mr. Clark instilled in us. The band festival was our high moment, after weeks and months of practicing and practicing and practicing (correct practicing) it was time to showcase before the judges at the festival for them to rate the band. It was nothing like those days, that moment of excitement, when we finally saw the scores posted that the band had made straight 1's which was the highest rating. All that preparation paid off and through it all we became a stronger unit, more united and more like one big happy family. Thank God for Mr. Carl W. Clark, Jr. and the positive impact he had on so many young people through his gifts and talent. Thanks Sheryl for sharing your dad with us, we loved him too! Marietta Sykes Woodard (Oboe Player)

Uncle Carl was gifted with a depth of spiritual insight which enabled him to understand the meaning of many biblical passages, of which he applied to his everyday life. I honor those gifts.
Uncle Carl's spirituality, courage and integrity are what true Men of God are made of. I honor those gifts.
Uncle Carl lived a life free of the self-defeating psychological obstacles that most others would let get in the way; during a time when the promise of success was not to be had. I honor those gifts.
Uncle Carl shared his declaration of love to "The Apple of His Eye" - Sheryl - as well as his wonderful caring family. He was blessed with a collection of friends that loved and adored him, while not forgetting him during the time when he faced the biggest challenges of his life. I honor his gift of love.
LET US NOT WALK THROUGH LIFE AND TAKE FOR GRANTED THE WORDS AND ACTIONS THAT UNCLE CARL NUDGED AND URGED ALL OF US TO DO OR NOT TO DO. LET US PRAY WITH REVERENCE AND RESPECT FOR THE GIFTS AND BLESSINGS BESTOWED UPON US THROUGH HIS WALK WITH GOD.
And so this wounded warrior has left the battlefield that we call life to start a new journey. Uncle Carl - Take Your Rest. I WILL ALWAYS HONOR YOU.
God never said the journey would be easy, but he did say the arrival would be worthwhile.
Prayfully & Respectfully Submitted,
Deaconess Mary Lizzie Flowers, Hughesville, MD

Mr. Clark was "The Rose" in the lives of so many of us who were blessed to have him as our Band Director! He instilled so many great attributes in us: discipline, excellence, pride, goal-setting, professionalism, humor, respect, not being ashamed of being good at what you do, friendship, and striving to be the best you can be. He was the strong father-figure and "life coach" that many needed. A very honorable man. I'll always have very fond memories of Mr. Clark and smile with thoughts of him whenever I hear "Every Thing's Coming Up Roses"!! My dearest Daddy Clark there are so many things I would like to say about the joy you brought to my life. Joy being the first one! You took me in just like a member of your family..meaning Sheryls other sister! What a Blessing it was to be apart of the family including Mommy Myrtle Clark. Oh how you two would keep Sheryl and I in check..smilesThank you for your wisdom and kiness through the years...this will never be forgotten! You've taken on many endeavors and have blessed so so many in the process. I know in my heart and soul they are feeling grateful also....you've now received your Crown in Glory and your Mansion awaits you! Always loving you, Your daughter, Vida(Cartwright)
