Obituary for Dorothy Ruth Tripp (Pierce)

Dorothy Ruth Tripp transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on February 1, 2019 in the presence of her loving family.

Dorothy Ruth Tripp was born on August 18, 1930 in Hertford County in North Carolina to the late Janie Bell Pierce and Patrick Henry Pierce. At an early age,
Dorothy gave her life to Christ and joined the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Family in Harrellsville, North Carolina. She graduated from C.S. Brown High School in Winton North Carolina. After graduation in 1948, she went to visit family in Edenton North Carolina, where she met and married John Lee Tripp Sr. This love affair went on for sixty six years.

She retired from Chesapeake City Public Schools as a trusted cafeteria worker.
That is where she learned how to make rolls and desserts that would be shared
among family and friends. She took delight in seeing her family and friends
enjoying her Sunday rolls.

She was the matriarch of the Tripp Family. She had the loving guidance that she so invited with a gentle touch of love as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. With all of her heart poured out the love with her southern hospitality, wisdom, encouragement, steady support and priceless gifts of constant love. She was an encourager who had a tone in her voice given to her by God. She had healing in her voice. She was able to touch people’s lives just by being the person God made her to be.
