Obituary for Christopher Rosean Boykins

Christopher Rosean Boykins, born June 5, 1987, went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2019 at the age of 31. He was a devoted fiancé, father, son, grandson, brother, cousin, and nephew.

Chris was predeceased by his grandfather Charles “Danny Ray” Boykins, daughter Arianna Boykins, and his brother Kentreal Beasley. He leaves to cherish his memory by his fiancé Kylie Dishmon, his 3 daughters; Zaria Boykins, Alexis Boykins, and Ava Boykins, mother Gwenette Boykins-Oldham (Michael), father Kent Grimes (Toyya), grandmother Gwendolyn Foster-Boykins, 4 sisters; Keshira Smith, Abonie Crew-White, Rosa Brown, and Mya Oldham, and 2 brothers; Kevin Brown, and Montreal Beasley, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

He will be lovingly remembered by those who were more than family, who had a bond bigger than words can explain; uncle Dontrell Turner (Keshara), aunt Darviette Johnson (Lekesha), cousin Michael (Myke Myke) Boykins, cousin Angela (Angie) Hayes, and cousin Markino (Kino) Walker. From running around together in diapers, to chasing after their own kids in diapers, they were inseparable.

Chris was educated in the Norfolk Public Schools system. He attended Flatwoods Job Corps where he obtained his Painting and Sandblasting certification. He was creative and an entrepreneur with dreams and plans for his own clothing line.

Loved by everyone he met, Chris had a beautiful soul. Respectful, polite, and a true gentleman, he was the epitome of what a man is supposed to be. He was a devoted father who adored his 3 girls and instilled in them the same respect he was raised with. Chris was determined and wanted the best out of everything in life. He was destined to be great.
