Barbara Ann Costin was called home on March 21, 2019. She was born October 10, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia. She was the oldest of nine. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother Benice McKnight and father Leroy Miller, ex-husband William Costin, sister Ella, brothers Albert and Michael and brothers-in-law O.V. and Stanley.

She graduated I. C. Norcom High School located in Portsmouth, Virginia, in 1964. Barbara studied business administration at Norfolk State University. She last worked as a secretary for the Longshoreman. Barbara was also a dedicated, active and loved member of Holy Jerusalem, Church of God In Christ.
She leaves to treasure her memories two children: Kim and Kolin and three grandchildren Tia, BJ and Kim, stepfather Elder John McKnight sisters Carolyn, Velma, Sylvia, Arthur (Denise) and Robin, brother in-law Michael and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Barbara was affectionately known by those who love her as Shouting Barbara (in church), the Kissing Bandit and Ms. MSNBC, she could tell you what was going on in the news play-by-play. She loved God, her family, friends and people in general; praying for all by name (if known) on her knees every morning.
