Obituary for Vander Cameron Smith (Cameron)

Mrs. Vander C. Smith, daughter of William S. Cameron and Celeste Bazemore Cameron was born April 27, 1950 in Norfolk, VA. She attended the public schools of Norfolk City and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Second Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member. At Second Calvary Baptist Church, she served faithfully in the senior choir.

She was an employee at Verizon for 30 years. Vander and her husband David enjoyed traveling and hosting family dinners. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Thursday, April 4, 2019 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her husband King David Smith, her son Bryan Smith of Richmond, VA , her brother William L. Cameron (Julia) of Chesapeake, VA; aunt and uncle: Marjorie Bazemore of Jamaica, New York and Robert Carter of Windsor, NC; nieces and nephews: William C. Cameron Sr. (Deborah) of Chesapeake, VA, Daryl Cameron (Kenisha) of Richmond, VA; great nieces and nephews: William C. Cameron Jr., Deborah P. Cameron, Sydney Cameron, and Emory Cameron; and a host of cousins and friends.
