Obituary for Ceola Singleton (Britt)
Mrs. Ceola B. Singleton, of the 3100 block of Somme Avenue, was called home on June 1, 2019, at Norfolk Health & Rehabilitation Center in Norfolk, Virginia. She was born January 18, 1935 in Winton, N.C. She was a faithful employee of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for 23 years before her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Louis E. Singleton, II (Karen) of Norfolk; her daughter, Karen Banzouzi (Chrysnel) of Norfolk; one sister, Kay Britt of Norfolk; three brothers, John Britt (Marion) of Aulander, N.C., James Britt (Doris) of Hampton and Joseph Britt of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Ebony Singleton, Louis Singleton, III and Chrysnel Banzouzi, Jr.; one great-grandchild Layia Singleton; as well as a host of special nieces, nephews and devoted friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Virginia Britt; and sisters, Mary L. Britt and Joyce H. Swain.
Her heart also held a special place for friends Margaret Vann, Patricia Davis, Dorothy Wilkins, Deborah Harrison and very special family friend Donnell “Woody” Woods.
Funeral will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday, June 11th at New Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Byron L. Harris officiating.
The family will receive friends and well-wishers at 3108 Somme Avenue; Norfolk, VA 23509 between the hours of 5pm and 8pm.
