Mary a Missionary of First Baptist Church of Lambert’s Point served faithfully in the Senior Choir of which she was the President, as a “Prayer Warrior” to which she was awarded Emeritus status, and a member of the “Day Choir”. She loved her church and church family and was faithful to them both for over 60 years. The dedication she had to her friends throughout her life was like no other, being there for them no matter what the task. She was truly an humble servant. One of her favorite sayings was "Only what you do for Christ will last." This idea is taken from a verse found in Corinthians. The verse from 2 Corinthians 5:9-10 states, "So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
She was an active member of the Eastern Star for many years.
A TIME FOR RECREATION
It was standard practice for the family to gather during the holidays to celebrate and eat. During the summer season, cookouts and barbeques where always well attended and the neighborhood was invited. She loved the card game called Spades, and if you sat down at the table to play with her you knew to prepare yourself for a great time. She also enjoyed early morning or late evening fishing, but if worms were used as bait someone else would have to bait the hook for her.
She would spend countless hours in spiritual word search games and devotional studies by Sara Young “Jesus is Calling”.
On July 14, 2019, Mary was called to be with the Lord. She heeded the Master’s call and claimed the resting place prepared for her.
