Obituary for Robert Lee Chambers Jr.

Robert Lee Chambers Jr. was born in Norfolk, VA on April 8, 1937. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Chambers of the home; his two daughters Sandra Spencer and Tanya Black both of Chesapeake, VA. Two sisters, Vivian L. Harris of Norfolk VA and Carolyn Chambers of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, Richard Felton of Norfolk, VA; four grandchildren: Joy Spencer, Grace Spencer, Stephen Spencer and Nikia Beamon; four great-grandchildren: Paris Johnson, JaNiya Green, JaZelle Spencer, and Kaliah Spencer, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary A. Chambers, of Virginia Beach VA; his father Robert Lee Chambers Sr. of Franklin, VA; one sister Annette Felton of Norfolk, VA.
Robert attended Norfolk Public Schools as a child. He worked at Haynes Furniture Company for over 5 years. He later worked as a delivery driver for both the Coca Cola Bottling Company and Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. He was a very active man with a love for bowling, basketball, football, and jogging. Robert remained faithful to his daily gym workout well into his 80th year of life.
Robert was a great family man and a loving father. He had a love for music and loved to sing. Robert sang with two local music groups: The Tear Drops and the Sheiks. They would perform at many venues in the Tidewater area. His friends and family will always remember him as a man of few words, but full of wisdom.
