Obituary for Ricardo Elwood Hundley

Ricardo Elwood Hundley departed from this life on Sunday, October 6, 2019. Rick, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, was born in Norfolk, Virginia on November 12, 1951 to the late Walter and Susie Hundley. He was the youngest of his siblings and predeceased by his brothers; Walter and Alphonso.

Ricardo was educated in Norfolk’s public school system. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High in 1971. In addition to academic studies, he earned a certificate for his 1080 hours of Auto Mechanic training he received. He continued his education at Tidewater Community College where he earned an Associate in Computer Science degree. Furthering his education, he received a Bachelor’s degree from Norfolk State University. Rick also attended Virginia Commonwealth University where he started working on a Master’s degree.

Ricardo served his country by enlisting in the military. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Upon his discharge, he was employed at Little Creek Amphibious Base as a police officer.

Ricardo was a kind hearted and giving man. He was a father to many. He leaves to cherish his memory; two sisters, Lillie Thomas and Dolly Thornton; a brother, William Hundley (Antoinette); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
