Obituary for Russell Alphonso Clark, Jr.

Russell A. Clark, Jr., 73 of Norfolk, Virginia went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 28, 2019. He was surrounded at his home by his loving wife of 50 plus years, Parisiene and precious children, Kevin and Regina. He had a short, unexpected illness.
Russell was born August 29, 1946 in Norfolk, VA to the late Russell A. Clark. Sr. and Lessie Clark. He received his education from St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Ruffner Middle School and Booker T. Washington where he graduated in the class of 1964. He continued his education at Norfolk State College where he received a Bachelor of Science degree (1971).
Russell began his professional work experience early in his life, at General Electric, Newport News Shipbuilding and Naval Rework Facility, Naval Air Station. He later worked in the chemical industry, as a mechanical Engineering Technician with Foster Grant and American Hoechst in Polystyrene Technology, Performance Products. He continued in the chemical field and later retired in (2010) as a Project Manager with the Huntsman International Corporation Maleic Licensing Group.
Russell’s job allowed him to travel to many U.S. and foreign countries overseeing the final projects of opening chemical plants. His work had him to travel to many foreign countries (China, Florida, Illinois, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Kuwait, India, etc.)
Russell was a member of the Pershing Rifles Military Fraternity #9 NSU (1965), Brighton Rock Lodge #79 Masonic Lodge, B.T.W. Class of 1964, Lifetime Member of Norfolk State University Alumni Association (2005), Corvette Club and an avid member of Virginia Beach Recreation Programs.
Russell loved life and he experienced great joy in reading, sports and designing, building and remodeling cars. He loved the Chevrolet brand it was his No. #1 tradename of all cars. The Chevrolet Corvette and a truck was a man’s best friend.
Russell’s precious memories will linger in the hearts of his faithful, devoted wife of over 50 years, Parisian T. Clark; two children, Regina Y. Clark-Parker of Charlotte, NC and Kevin B. Clark of Chesapeake, VA, two sisters, Jacqueline Richardson (Alex) of Chesapeake, and Avery Clark, Baltimore, MD; two brothers: Byron Clark (Tabetha) of San Antonio, TX, Karl Clark of Charlotte, N.C, three aunts; Mrs. Edna Clark of Portsmouth, VA, Mrs. Audrey James of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Hattie Downing of Edenton, NC; and one Mr. Reginald “Red” Clark of Portsmouth, VA along with a hosts of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2019 from 2pm to 6 pm at Graves Funeral Home, Church Street, Norfolk, VA. A life celebration service will be held 11:00 am at Basilica of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Holt Street, Norfolk, VA. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Airline Blvd, Chesapeake, VA. The family has entrusted Graves Funeral Services to handle the final arrangements.
