Merle Jeanette Akins was born June 25, 1955 in Baltimore Maryland to
the late Howard F. Green Sr. and Corina Green.

She answered the call to eternal rest on Saturday November 30, 2019
at 5:45 a.m. She accepted the call in Sentara General Hospital in
Norfolk, VA.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Corina D. Green, her father
Howard F. Green Sr., two sisters, Ellen Hanley and Dorothy Ware and
one nephew Timothy Ware Jr.

She was a hard worker and a woman who had many skills and talents
which included baking, sewing, painting and cooking.
She was friendly to everyone she came in contact with. She will be
truly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Joseph L. Akins (Joe) ,
two brothers, Howard F. Green Jr. and Claudis B. Green, a niece
Stephanie Green, two great nieces Amanda and Alicia Beard, a host of
other relatives and friends.
