Lewis Lee Brown, age 87, died peacefully at home on January 15, 2020, in Norfolk, VA.
Born on May 19, 1932 in Newsoms, VA, Lewis was the son of Major and Elnora (Blow) Brown.
In January 1952, he married Rachel (Smith) Brown in Courtland, VA. The couple raised three children together: Elijah, Lloyd, and Violee.
In the 1950’s, Lewis moved his family to Norfolk, VA where he worked several positions in the automotive industry. A lover of vehicles, Lewis found a permanent home at Hank’s Body and Fender Works in Norfolk where he worked for more than 30 years as an automobile painter.
Lewis is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Rachel; his son, Elijah; his parents, Major and Elnora; and his brothers, Jeremiah, George, and Amos.
Lewis is survived by his daughter, Violee; his son, Lloyd; his daughter-in-law, Ella; his grandchildren: Antonio, Angela, Tamara, Sandye, Phil, and Faith; his close friend, Kenny; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
All are welcome to celebrate Lewis’ life at a wake service On January 20, 2020, 6:00pm at Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk, VA.
The family will have a graveside service at 12 noon on January 21, 2020 at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, VA.
