LIFE REFLECTIONS
Having decided that His servant's days here on earth should come to an end, the great God Almighty dispatched an angel to bring home to rest the soul of our dearly beloved Marca Lee Tucker Bannister, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
Born the youngest daughter , to the late William David and Afflina Cox in Norfolk County August 20, 1940. Marca was educated in the Norfolk Public school system graduating from Booker T. Washington High School. After graduation, she earned advanced degrees in Nursing and was employed by Sentara Home Care. She was also employed with Norfolk Public Schools for 33 years retiring in 2010. Marca was predeceased by her love, Berry Bannister. Through their Union she was blessed with a loving daughter, Fancy Bannister of Jacksonville, Florida.
Marca was a faithful member of Saint Mark RZUA where she dedicated her services on the Bonners Usher Board and the Special Project Committee. Marca enjoyed attending Bible Study and feeding the homeless. She truly had a passion for fellowshipping with her church family.
She leaves to cherish precious memories with her devoted children Michael L. Tucker. M.D. (Delphine) of Norfolk and Cryshunda Tillery ( Craig) of Newport News; her beloved three grandchildren, Michelle L. Tucker of Norfolk, Virginia, Michael B. Tucker of Atlanta, Georgia and A'Chaunnie Clary of Newport News, Virginia. She also leaves her two sisters: Stella Green of Petersburg, Virginia, Pastor Myrtle M. Marca, affectionately known as "Aunt Marca" loved and adored all of her nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She shared a deep and individualized connection with them all. Marca visited the sick in their private homes, nursing homes and hospitals providing any services she could render. She was always present for everyone of her children's and grandchildren's affairs. Her selfless compassion to love and serve others was appreciated by all. Rest on MOM, your work is done
