Obituary for Cheryl Ann Meadows (Spillers)

Our Beloved, Daughter and Sister, Cheryl Ann Meadows (Spillers) went home to be with the Lord in Norfolk, Virginia on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.

Cheryl was born on January 21,1957 to her parents Margret Stinson and Willie Spillers at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Cheryl was given the nick name “Tootsie” by her oldest Sister Connie. She was also nick named “6:30” by her Sister Shirley due to her hanging out with her friends to remind her of the time she needed to be home. Growing up she earned her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from Interborough College in New York, New York and later completed 2 additional Years of College at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She was always pursuing her education and was a fast learner. She Joined the United States Navy in 1986 and served as a Boatswain's Mate Seaman aboard the U.S.S. Yellowstone during her 3 years of Sea Duty. She served 7 total years in the Navy and was proud of all the places she was able to visit during her time of service. After Her Military Service she settled down in Norfolk Virginia.

Cheryl loved to cook for her many nieces and nephews. She never missed an opportunity to cook her famous Spaghetti Dish, or Barbeque during a Family get together.

She is predeceased in death by her loving Aunt Velma Floyd; Her Parents Margret Stinson and Willie Spillers; Her Sisters Cathy Spillers and Cindy Spillers and her beloved nieces Lisa Harris and Renee Harris.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her faithful partner of over 25 years Wayne Ozene, her Sisters Connie Fortune; Carolyn (Edward) Harris-Wallace, Shirley (George) Hill, and Brother Ronald Spillers; Beloved Friend Thomas Moore (D & A), Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
