Obituary for Jesse Lightfoot Williams

Jesse Lightfoot Williams, U. S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, (Retired) was born in Newport News, Virginia. He was called home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2020, at the Charlie Norwood Veterans Administration Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia with his daughter Denise by his side. He was the son of the late Lacy and Selena Williams. Jesse was the husband of the late Eloise Lee Williams. He was preceded in death by his brothers Lacy Williams, Jr.; Raymond Williams, and Arthur Williams.

Jesse served and retired with an honorable discharge from the United States Navy as Chief Petty Officer. He served as a radarman, an electronics mechanic, and recruiter while in the Navy. He received Good Conduct Medals, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Jesse leaves to cherish his memory—four daughters: Charlina Williams-Monroe (Varis) of Jupiter, Florida (youngest); Pamela Lee Jones (David), Denise Lee, and the eldest, Cynthia Lee Faulcon of Chesapeake, Virginia; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one sister, Marion Williams of Bronx, New York and three sisters-in-law. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted by Graves Funeral Home, 1631 Church Street, Norfolk, Virginia. The viewing will be on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The going home services will be on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM. The burial will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 1101 Campostella Road in Chesapeake, Virginia.
