Obituary for Eddie Stevens Sr.
On Monday, May 18, 2020, at 81 years of age, Mr. Eddie Stevens, Sr. transitioned from labor to reward in Sentara Norfolk General Heart Hospital. He was born April 17, 1939 in Camden County, North Carolina to Myrtis Stevens Overton.
Eddie worked at County View Mobile Courts for 60 years until his retirement. He loved his job and he loved the Bonney Family as his own. He loved fishing, old gospel and country music, old westerns, working in his yard and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
Eddie was a faithful member of New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. He was a devoted Deacon in his past church homes and a faithful servant of The Lord.
Eddie was preceded in death by his loving wife Delorris; daughter, Kimberly; son, Michael, and mother Myrtis Overton.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memories his children, Eddie Stevens, Jr. (Angela), Marvin Stevens, Sr. (Tonya); grandchildren, Marvin, Jr.(Latia), Kimberly, Eddie, III and Makayla; great-grandchildren, Michael, Vernon and Messiah; his sisters, Annie and Bernice Taylor; brother- in- law, Ernest Sawyer as well as a host of nieces, nephews extended relatives and friends.
