Mr. Willie Edward White, Sr. transitioned from labor to reward Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. He was born in Bertie County, North Carolina on August 12, 1936 to the late Mr. John Elmo Sessoms and the late Mrs. Al White. He attended Colerian Bertie County, North Carolina Public Schools.

Willie worked a a Short Shoreman at Hampton Roads International Longshoreman's Association (ILA) for nineteen years from 1963 to 1982. Many knew of him as 'Pete 21'.

Willie was united in marriage to Mrs. Beulah Mae White for sixty two years.

Willie leaves to cherish his memories his beautiful wife, Beulah Mae White; his eight children, Willie Mae Sampson (Leon) of Chesapeake, VA, Melvern White (Brenda) of Chesapeake, Va, Reggie White of Virginia Beach, VA, Eric White (Anita) of Suffolk, VA, Willie Edward White, Jr. (Sandra) San Antonio, TX, Frederick Wiggins (Helen) Middletown, CT, Jackie Parker of Middletown, CT, Ramona Turner of Chesapeake, VA; twenty two grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Brown (Brown); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

My family and I are sharing in your sadness as you remember and celebrate the passing of your beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many. Mr. White, so affectionately known as "Mr. Pete," back in our Liberty Park neighborhood was always viewed as a loving, hard working and supportive family man. His legacy lives on through the love of his family. Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs to the White family.

My prayers and condolences to the entire White Family. I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Pete last year for the first time in over 50 years and he knew who I was. We go way back from the Liberty Park days. Please let me know if there is something I can do for you.

I would like to offer my condolences to the family of Willie White Sr. I have many fond memories of Mr. Pete and the White family. From his son Reggie being my first ever, Best Friend! Enjoying his record collection. Mr. Big Stuff and Don't Let the Green Grass fool Ya! The time he brought home a trailer full of live chickens. Chasing them around the back yard to catch them so they could be prepped for cooking. Thank you for allowing me to be an extended part of the White household. Pease and Strength to you all. Kerry R.
