Mr. Willie Edward White, Sr. transitioned from labor to reward Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. He was born in Bertie County, North Carolina on August 12, 1936 to the late Mr. John Elmo Sessoms and the late Mrs. Al White. He attended Colerian Bertie County, North Carolina Public Schools.
Willie worked a a Short Shoreman at Hampton Roads International Longshoreman's Association (ILA) for nineteen years from 1963 to 1982. Many knew of him as 'Pete 21'.
Willie was united in marriage to Mrs. Beulah Mae White for sixty two years.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories his beautiful wife, Beulah Mae White; his eight children, Willie Mae Sampson (Leon) of Chesapeake, VA, Melvern White (Brenda) of Chesapeake, Va, Reggie White of Virginia Beach, VA, Eric White (Anita) of Suffolk, VA, Willie Edward White, Jr. (Sandra) San Antonio, TX, Frederick Wiggins (Helen) Middletown, CT, Jackie Parker of Middletown, CT, Ramona Turner of Chesapeake, VA; twenty two grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Brown (Brown); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
