Obituary for Charles Albert "Butch" Blackwell Jr.
Charles Albert Blackwell, Jr. was the son of the late Charles Blackwell, Sr. and Corinne Elliott Blackwell. He was born on October 21, 1947 in Easton, MD. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA, at the age of 72.
Charles graduated from Talbot County Public Schools in 1966. He graduated from Maryland State, now known as University of Maryland Eastern Shore, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture in 1971. Charles was a high school teacher for 10 years. He ended his working career at Walmart.
Charles enjoyed traveling with his wife. Some of his favorite pastimes included traveling to Canada, California and New Jersey. He also was an avid fan of all sports. Some of his favorite sports included football, baseball, bowling, fishing, tennis, horse racing and car racing.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Wilson Blackwell of 48 years, three daughters, Atonya Cuffee (Frederick), Felicia Blackwell (Shandon), Jessica Cardona (Ramon) all of Virginia, five sisters, Doris Janette Blackwell of Easton, MD, Violeece Green (Wayne) of Royal Oak, MD, Bronté Nadine Cephus (Percy) of Trappe, MD, Sheila Cuffee (Anthony) of Hurlock, MD, Kewanna Hayward of Washington, DC and Ianthia Blackwell (deceased), three brothers, Ronald Blackwell (Annette) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Anthony Blackwell of Hurlock, MD and André Blackwell (deceased). He has four grandchildren that he adored, Justin Cuffee, Dorina Cuffee, Charles Blackwell and Joseph Carroll and was survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
