Obituary for Quntonio Terrill "Binky" Nimmo
Quntonio was born on August 2, 1974 in Norfolk, Va. He entered into eternal rest on October 1, 2020 at Sentara General Hospital in Norfolk, Va.
Binky is the son of Roy Lee Powell and Vernisha Nimmo Powell. Both of his parents have preceded him in death.
Binky is survived by his daughter Vernisha Aneale Renee Nimmo from Norfolk, Va; his son Nasir Pharr from Norfolk, VA; brother Shawntelle Nimmo of New Bern, NC; and sister Shakira Powell Richards (Verno) of New Bern, NC. As well as a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Binky was raised by his Aunt Latane Banks of New Bern, NC after the passing of his mother Vernisha Powell in 1989.
In his early years Binky became a keen swimmer for past time during the summer months. His hobbies also included cooking, singing and having a great time with his family and friends. He excelled academically at New Bern High School, graduating with the class of 1992.
After graduation Binky moved back to Norfolk,Va with his grandparents Miles and Glennie Nimmo to start his adulthood life. To know him, was to love him!
We loved him and shall miss him. We pray that the candle of light and his legacy of life, peace, joy and happiness shall always burn within our hearts. – The Family
