Obituary for Stanley Milton Pulley (Lil Stan) Jr.
STANLEY MILTON PULLEY, JR., affectionately known as “Lil Stan” (TTG), entered into eternal rest and peace on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was born in Nash County, North Carolina, on July 25, 1976, to Stanley Milton Pulley, Sr. and Connie Settles Pulley.
During his early life, Stanley professed faith in Christ, was baptized, and became a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. His formal education was received in the public schools of Halifax County, and upon graduating from Northwest Halifax High School in Littleton, North Carolina, with the class of 1994, he then made Norfolk, Virginia, his home.
After relocating to Norfolk, Virginia, Stanley became employed with Kempsville Building Materials, and his position as a laborer allowed him to travel throughout the Tidewater Region. Shortly thereafter, he would find his true calling as a rigger for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he worked for numerous years before relocating to Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he remained until his demise.
“Lil Stan” was not your average son or brother. To his family he was a missionary. He believed that love was an action word, not just something that you say, but something that you do. He possessed a clear, well-defined perception of “Family first”.
Those loved ones left with the legacy of his loving heart and special moments are his children, Kristen Pulley of Littleton, NC, Tanasha Wright of Raleigh, NC, Kaelan Evans of Winston-Salem, NC, and Mason Adamski of Portsmouth, VA; his grandchildren, Zyiere, Jamyus, and Legacy Knight of Littleton, NC; his parents, Stanley Pulley, Sr. and Connie Pulley of Virginia Beach, VA; his sisters, Gonzata Floyd (Tobias) of Waldorf, MD, Dr. Tifanie Pulley of Virginia Beach, VA, and Chiquetta Silver (Nathaniel) of Littleton, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 2241 NC Highway 43, in the Arcola Community of Warrenton, NC. Rev. Dr. Charles E. McCollum will deliver the eulogy. Because of Covid-19, the CDC guidelines will be followed for all services by the wearing of masks, practicing social distancing, and limiting the number of persons in attendance.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Friday, October 16, 2020. Only five persons will be allowed to enter at any one time.
