Aaron Anthony Johnson, departed this side of heaven to be with our Lord, November 11, 2020 at the home he shared with his fiancé, Sherron Fantauzzi, in Lorton, Virginia.

Aaron was born on July 28, 1969 in Norfolk, VA to Mr. and Mrs. Delano Johnson Sr. Aaron was an athlete throughout his youth and adult life and a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers and Virginia Tech Hokies fan. During his attendance at Norview High School, Aaron was a member of the infamous “Band-Aid” Brothers offensive line in the late 80’s. As a student at Virginia Tech, he was a member of an intramural championship basketball squad. He was a coach and youth development mentor in sports for his community and with the South County Athletics Association in Lorton, VA where he encouraged the importance of discipline and hard work.

Aaron was educated in the Norfolk Public School system and a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) with a degree in economics in the spring of 1991. Aaron’s career has been quite extensive in the finance and mortgage industry, where he has been a stalwart in providing access to first time homeownership for women and minorities. Aaron regularly provided education sessions on mortgage and homeownership opportunities with church and community groups. He will be remembered by his friends as an authentic, affable, reliable, original, and noteworthy man that gave his friends respect, love and support.

In addition to his many colleagues, teammates, and lifelong friends, Aaron is survived by his two daughters: Jasmine and Jourdan Johnson, his parents Delano (Sr) and Gladys Johnson, sisters Monique (Jesse) Leake, Jessica (Orien Sr) Patterson, brother, Del (Vashion) Johnson Jr, three nieces, Bianca, Charlotte, and Aliyah, four nephews, Jesse Jr, Joshua, Orien Jr, and Winston, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear close friends. Aaron was recently engaged to Sherron Fantauzzi and endeared by her daughters, Shayna, Sade, and her grandson, Zachary.
The Celebration of Life Services for Aaron will be held at Graves Funeral Home in Norfolk, VA, with the Visitation with the Family on November 20, 2020 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., and the Funeral Service on November 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Due to the COVID-19 Statewide gathering restrictions, the service is limited to the family. Individuals are encouraged to join the services via live stream on the Graves Funeral Home website during that time and available for your viewing up to 30-days after the service.

My deepest condolences to our extended family. My favorite memory of Aaron is and will always be our constant fight over the Steelers and the Ravens. We would always go back and forth about stats, wins and who was the better team. Aaron,I will always bleed purple and black, but I will wear a little yellow for you.
