Patricia Ethel Williams departed this life on December 27, 2020. Pat or Patty Cake (as her mom often called her) was born to the late Elder Reginald Clyde Church and Savannah Joyce Church on October 2, 1958 in Norfolk, Virginia. Pat was 62 years old and was a member of Angelic Church of God in Christ.
Pat attended Norfolk State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education. As a Special Education teacher for Portsmouth Public Schools, she worked with a myriad of special needs children where she assisted them in obtaining the best education based on their individual needs. She was Teacher of the Year at Port Norfolk Public Schools in Portsmouth, Virginia. After 28 years of teaching, she retired from Portsmouth Public Schools.
Countless stories can be told of her endless love, support, and sacrifice for children that were not her own. Though Ill for over 15 years, she deserved the title of “Warrior Queen ” as she never wavered in her faith in God. Pat fought a good fight and now she is present with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pat leaves to cherish her memory Robert Recardo Williams (husband), Savannah J. Church (mother), Minister Thalia B. Church ( only sister), Jacqueline Burgess (aunt/husband , Robert), Theresa Williams (sister-in-law), Peggie Orton (friend), and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews.
