Luis Alberto Escobar, well-known as “Lucho”, was loved by many for his fun, loving personality. He had an infectious smile and laugh, you always felt loved after seeing Lucho. Lucho passed away on February 16th, 2021 at the age of 69. He was born in Panama City, Panama on Aug 21st, 1951 to Evelia Caballero & Francisco Escobar Sr. Lucho attended school at Artes Y Oficios High School in Panama where he gained his knick-name “Titi from 19th Street”. He loved to fellowship at church. In 1978 he migrated to Brooklyn, New York, where he met and fell in love with Monica. Lucho and Monica got married December 11, 1980. In their union, they had six beautiful children. Lucho loved spending time with, laughing, and enjoying his children and grandchildren. They later moved to Virginia Beach, VA, where he retired from Virginia Beach Public Schools after 15 years. Lucho loved keeping his cars clean, watching basketball and boxing. His favorite NBA team was the NY Knicks and he regularly watched boxing matches. Lucho is preceded in death by his father, Francisco Escobar Sr.; aunt, Isabel Caballero; and sister, Licett Mootoo. Lucho is survived by his beautiful wife, Monica; sons: Luis, Jose, Anthon, Francisco (Aisha), Anthony (Marcia); daughter, Lattiana Escobar; mother, Evelia Caballero; brother, Francisco Escobar Jr (Tonya); 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; best friends; Alberto Lynton and “Bully” Smith; Albert Perry (Michelle), who became just like a son; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
