Deborah Mason was born to James D. and Elder Betsy C Arrington in Norfolk, Virginia. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Junius Mason, beloved son Ronald C. Mason, and siblings Russell Arrington, Irene Arrington, Doris Arrington, Josephine Williams, Dicey Watson, and Elizabeth Lancaster. She is survived by her daughters Debra Johnson and Patricia LGallegos as well as grandchildren David Williams, Butterfly Webb, Courtney Johnson, Roniss Mason and six greatgrandchildren.
"Ma Mason" or " Aunt Mag" as she was lovingly referred to by nieces, nephews, coworkers, friends, community, and her church family was known for her loving, humorous, and strong-willed personality.
Mrs. Mason was a long-time resident of Jersey City, New Jersey She was a devoted member of Mt, Olive Baptist Church in Jersey City where she held many positions within the church, but none more important than her role as mother of the church. "Mother Mason" treasured her relationship with her lord and savior as well as her close personal relationship with Rev. John and Lady Tamika McReynolds as well as her best friend and neighbor Ms. Barbara Stone.
