Obituary for Shirley Marie Arrington (Turner)
Shirley M Turner-Arrington, 70 years of age passed away on Monday May 31st, 2021, at Sentra Norfolk General Hospital.
Shirley was born September 29th, 1950, in Halifax County, to Annie (predeceased) and John Turner. She spent her early year in Scotland Neck, NC. She was educated in Norfolk Public Schools and is a Proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in 1968. She was a Lifelong Member of the BTW Class of 1968, Faithful member of the Historic First Baptist Church, a Wonderful Girl Scout Leader and Cookie Manger, Life Member of the National PTA. She was employed by the City of Norfolk and worked at Blyden, Janaf and Mary D. Pretlow Libraries for almost 20 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 36 years Arthur M Arrington, her father John Turner, brother Leon Tillery, her children Toya D. Nichols-Wise (Charles), Edward B Nichols, Garnett L. Arrington (Tonya). Her seven Grandchildren: Arnett D. Nichols( Sharmane), Garnett Jones, Darrell Wise, Akiera Jones, Adriannah Wise(Ja’Ron), Makiyah Jones, and Dakari Arrington. Several Great-Grandchildren, Two step-brothers Joseph C. Taylor and Isaiah Johnson. A Host Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends.
