Enoch “Mooch” Alexander was called home at the age of 92 on Friday May 13, 2022 at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk.
Enoch Alexander was born in Norfolk County (Chesapeake) on December 16, 1929. He was one of eight children to Emmett H Alexander and Alberta Riddick.
He was educated through Norfolk Public Schools and later received vocational certification. Enoch retired as a foreman of the Materials department of the division of Navy Defense after 40 years. He was also an Army veteran and served in the Korean War.
Enoch was a dedicated spouse. He is survived by his wife of 71 years Ethel “Doll" Alexander. He was a member of Total Life Church of Chesapeake, Virginia. As a dedicated Christian, he and his wife faithfully attended church, Sunday school and bible study.
Enoch was no stranger to the neighborhood. He at times mentored to the young men on the block. He loved and cared for his grandchildren and was a beloved father figure and faithful and dutiful spouse. He was a good man who took care of his home and his family.
Enoch is preceded in death by his son Major Enoch A Alexander and daughter Melba Alexander. He leaves to mourn: his siblings Sharon Copeland, Carolyn Alexander, Dr Raymond Alexander and Augustus Riddick; his children Camelia Langley and Andre Alexander; his granddaughters Joy Alexander, Senetra Smith and Valerie Alexander; great-grandchildren Jasmin Alexander, Ayanna Smith, Tia Smith, Jordyn Smith; niece Sharon Russell , nephew Reginald Ferebee and his wife Theorosia, and a host of relatives and friends.
Enoch “Mooch" Alexander was an independent, dedicated, outstanding and well loved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.
