Agnes B. Cooper, 94, passed away peacefully at Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital on Saturday, September 17, 2022. She was born March 21, 1928 in Fairfield, NC, the daughter of the late Emily and James H. Burrus. A resident of Norfolk, VA., Agnes was an active member of of Unity Lutheran Church for many years.
She did fundraising events and baking for the church. Members of her community loved her pound cake. She had a “Green Thumb” and had a passion for gardening. She loved to crochet, knit and travel. She retired from Norfolk General Hospital, where she worked for many years as a Nursing Assistant, on the OB GYN unit.
She is predeceased by spouse Johnny Cooper, sons Troy Cooper and Johnnie Cooper Jr.
She is survived by sister Sandra Gaylord, Virginia Beach, VA; 4 daughters, Deloris Cooper, Virginia Beach, VA, Erma Bracey and husband, Norfolk, VA, Jeanette Cooper Virginia Beach, VA, and Michelle Cooper Virginia Beach, VA; son, Randolph Cooper Norfolk, VA, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
The family will accept friends at a Public viewing, which will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 2:00 - 6:00pm at Graves Funeral Home located at 1631 Church St., Norfolk, Virginia. Funeral services will be held at Unity Lutheran Church at 2801 E Princess Anne Rd., Norfolk, Virginia
