Obituary for Lillian Elizabeth Smallwood (Crawley)

On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, the Lord God called his servant, Lillian Elizabeth Smallwood for her eternal rest.
Lillian was born in Smithfield, Virginia on February 19, 1926, to the Late Martha Parson and John O’Neal.

She was predeceased by her brothers: McKinley Crawley, William Crawley, Roosevelt D. Cuffee, and Linwood Cuffee; a sister, Naomi Cuffee; and a son, Felix A. Smallwood.

She attended schools in Norfolk and later worked at the City of Norfolk School Board as a custodian.

Lillian and Felix’s union had five children: Catherine White (Vernon), Mary Tucker (James, Joseph, Phyllis Howell), and Felix A.) They helped to raise four grandchildren: Michael, Demetrius, Tamia and Felix A.

She had sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was well loved in the Chesterfield Heights community and First Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a deaconess.
Family was always first and that belief was passed on through the generations.

Now she is an angel watching over us all. May her soul rest in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ.
