Obituary for Christopher Darnell Nobles

JOHN 16:22 KJV
“And ye now, therefore, have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.”

On October 19, 1990, a precious baby boy named Christopher Darnell Nobles (AKA “Bud” to his father)
was born to Cherylin Gariet-Nobles and Joseph Anthony Nobles in Providence Rhode Island, joining his brother, Joe and sister, Ebony.

Chris grew up in Chesapeake, VA and graduated from Hickory High School where he also was a member of the track team. His teachers and administrators characterized his as being funny, compassionate and committed to his friends. He was known by all as cheerful, selfless, and a self-proclaimed “momma’s boy.” He shared an immense love for his family and several of his personality traits can be attributed to that. His love of hats and problem-solving came from his father, the passion for cooking/baking from his mother and sister, and his individuality and musical tastes from his big brother.
Chris was an avid music lover but, most notably rock music, which he would attend music festivals with his friends during the summer and fearlessly joined the mosh-pits. The friendships he built lead to many adventures, and Chris was always along for the ride. Whether it was road-tripping to New York with the 3 Chris’s (Chris Anna, Chris King, and Chris Nobles) or tagging along on a trip to Florida. No matter what, you could always count on Chris for an entertaining ride (belting out a Backstreet Boys song). Making people laugh brought joy to his life.

Chris has touched so many lives with his kindness and laughter, from his family, school and neighborhood friends. From his work families at Farm Fresh, Waffle House, and Wawa and anyone he encountered, loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Lessie Gariet-Hollis and Nora Noble. His grandfathers, Mikel Gariet, Willie Eugene Noble, Sr, and John Nathan Haynes. His aunts, Kelly Ann Davis and Janice Marie Hurst. His uncles, Willie Eugene Noble, Jr, Clyde Benjamin Gariet, and Tommie Wayne Noble.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a dedicated and loving mother, Cherylin, and a devoted father, Joseph. His siblings Joseph Jr, (Jenn), and sister, Ebony. His wonderful grandmother, Florida Mae Noble, doting nephew Jordan Anthony Lawrence-Nobles. His aunts, Brenda Stoneham (Shiron), Regina King, Patricia Brackins, Gwen Brackins, and Frances Whiteside (Allen). His uncles, Darrell Noble (Yvonne), Andrew Noble (Rosie), and Johnnie Winston (Cheryl), His girlfriend Jenn Hoye, and a host of other cousins, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Chris touched so many lives – family, friends, and co-workers during his 32 years on this earth. Everyone will forever hold a special place of affection in their hearts for him.
