Michael Stephen James

Michael Stephen James was a loving and beloved son, brother, father and friend, Michael was a native Chicagoan, having been born in Chicago on December 19, 1955 to Grady and Ida James. He was an unapologetically passionate Chicago Bears fan, “Go Bears.”

Michael had a strong belief in family, whether by blood or by friendship. Michael wanted to make a difference in this world. He wanted to be able to help empower others to be their best and pursue their dreams. Michael was a learned man, understanding and working in a broad range of business enterprises. He was a complicated man who faced and endured many challenges in life but was never far from his faith in Christ and hope. A student of the Bible, life and an entrepreneur – most recently, he was a student at Old Dominion University’s Digital Marketing Bootcamp.

Michael will be missed by many. He will be fondly remembered by many, When its my turn to go home to the Lord, I imagine I will hear Michael’s laugh right before he takes my hand to greet me.

Michael was predeceased by his mother, Ida James in 2009.

Michael is survived by his Father: Dr. Grady H. James; Sister: Dr. Patricia James; Brother: Christopher James (Annette); Daughter: Ronique Hampton; Uncle: William James; Nieces: Ciera and Risa; and a host of cousins and friends.
