Obituary for Teresa Marie Washington (Wilson)

Isaiah 41:10 “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

On January 30th, 1967, a beautiful baby girl named Teresa Marie Washington (Twinkle to her family) was born to Mildred Wilson and Vernon Barnett in Norfolk, VA.

Teresa grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia, and graduated from Great Bridge Highschool. She was known by all as witty, selfless, and courageous and was a self-proclaimed jack of all trades. She had an amazing heart and a vast love for her sons and family members. Growing up she loved to play baseball and as she grew older, she also enjoyed playing a good game of spades and spending time with her grandchildren and sons. She also enjoyed traveling and was well-known for being venturesome and always on the move. To know her was to love her and she will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by her sisters, Vanessa Wilson, Cerese White, Geraldine Dunton, and Verndolyn Barnett. She also leaves behind her three sons, Kenneth Washington, Jamel Washington, and Shaquil Campbell, as well as her three grandchildren, Mia, Chloe, and Kenneth Washington III. She also leaves to cherish her memory, a host of many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Teresa was a beautiful force that touched so many lives during her 55 years on this earth. Everyone will forever hold a special place in their hearts for her.
